LA GÜISQUERÍA – THE WHISKY BAR
Sinopsis
En un ambiente enmarcado por el río Magdalena y el continuo consumo de guarapo, un grupo de pescadores expone sus vidas, sus dolores y sus pasiones, con el sonido del río de fondo como si su interminable pasar determinara el curso de sus vidas. Honda. Una ciudad a orillas de la mayor arteria fluvial colombiana, en la que hombres y mujeres luchan por ganarse el sustento, dependiendo siempre de la generosidad del río. Sin embargo, no todo es trabajo para estas personas. En sus extensos ratos libres frecuentan la guarapería de Chucho, el lugar de encuentro no sólo de gentes propias del lugar, sino de viajeros venidos de todos los rincones del país, que llegan a Honda por diversos motivos y quedan atrapados entre la dulzura de la embriaguez y el rotundo sol tropical.
Synopsis
In the world drunk with “guarapo” and with the waters of the Magdalena River, a group of fishermen show us their lives, their grief and their passions, within a context where the flow of the river determines the course of their lives. Honda, a city at the riverside of the Magdalena River, where a group of fishermen struggles to earn a living that most of the time depends on how much the river is “willing” to give them. However, these people do not work all of the time, in their leisure time they often go to “Chucho’s Guarapería – also called the Guiskeria”, a sleazy canteen and the meeting place of local people as well as folks from all over the country. These men ended up in Honda for one reason or another. Besides this joint serving as a canteen.
